How to carry out daily maintenance of the welding table?

2024-07-15

I. Importance of Daily Maintenance of the Welding Table

As the basic supporting platform for welding work, the welding table plays an important role. Daily maintenance of the welding table can not only extend its service life but also ensure the smooth progress of welding work and operational safety.

II. Daily Maintenance Steps for the Welding Table

(1) Surface Cleaning

After each welding work, use a clean rag or brush to remove the dust, welding slag, splashed metal particles, and residual flux and other debris on the surface of the welding table.

For example, for larger welding slag, you can first gently remove it with a small shovel, then sweep it with a brush, and finally wipe it clean with a rag.

If there is oil stain or other stubborn stains, an appropriate amount of neutral cleaner can be used for cleaning, but it is important to avoid using strong acid or strong alkali cleaners to prevent damage to the tabletop.

(2) Inspection of the Table Structure

Regularly inspect the structural components of the welding table, such as the table legs, beams, connectors, etc., to check for looseness, deformation, cracks, or damage.

You can use a wrench and other tools to tighten the screws and connectors. If there is deformation or cracks in the table legs or beams, they should be repaired or replaced in time.

Check the flatness of the tabletop. If the tabletop is uneven, it may affect the accuracy and stability of the welding work and requires adjustment or repair.

(3) Maintenance of Protective Coatings (if any)

If the surface of the welding table has a protective coating (such as anti-rust coating, wear-resistant coating, etc.), regularly check the integrity of the coating.

For locally worn or peeled coatings, recoating treatment can be carried out to protect the table from corrosion and wear.

When recoating the protective coating, ensure that the material and color of the coating are consistent with the original coating and operate in accordance with the usage instructions of the coating product.

(4) Storage and Protection

When the welding table is not in use temporarily, it should be stored in a dry and well-ventilated place to avoid damage caused by direct sunlight and humid environment.

A layer of protective cloth or plastic film can be covered on the surface of the table to prevent the accumulation of dust and debris and accidental collisions and scratches.

III. Maintenance Frequency

Perform a simple surface cleaning after the daily work.

Conduct a detailed inspection and cleaning of the table structure once a week.

Inspect and maintain the protective coating (if any) once a quarter.

IV. Precautions

During the cleaning and maintenance process, pay attention to safety and avoid being scratched by sharp corners.

If it is necessary to disassemble or repair the welding table, you should first understand its structure and assembly method to avoid damage caused by wrong operations.
