What are the daily maintenance of the vibration isolator?

2024-07-17

I. Importance of Daily Maintenance of Vibration Isolators

As a key component for reducing the transmission of mechanical vibrations, the vibration isolator plays a crucial role in the stable operation of equipment, noise reduction, protection of surrounding structures, and extension of equipment service life. Regular daily maintenance of the vibration isolator can ensure the stable performance and reduce the probability of failures.

II. Contents of Daily Maintenance

(1) Appearance Inspection

Regularly inspect the appearance of the vibration isolator to check for obvious cracks, deformations, wear, or corrosion. If any problems are found, replace or repair it in time.

For example, if cracks appear on the surface of a rubber vibration isolator, its vibration isolation performance will decline. In the case of large vibrations, the cracks may expand rapidly until the vibration isolator fails.

Inspect the connection parts of the vibration isolator to ensure that the connection components are fastened without looseness.

(2) Cleaning Work

Regularly clean the dust, oil stains, and debris on the surface of the vibration isolator to keep it clean.

For example, in a factory environment, dust and oil stains are easily adhered to the vibration isolator. Long-term accumulation will accelerate the aging and corrosion of the vibration isolator.

For metal vibration isolators, a clean rag can be used for wiping; for rubber vibration isolators, avoid using organic solvents for cleaning to prevent damage to the rubber material.

(3) Performance Inspection

Regularly inspect the vibration isolation performance of the vibration isolator. The performance of the vibration isolator can be judged by measuring parameters such as vibration frequency and amplitude.

For example, use a vibration measuring instrument to conduct a vibration test on the equipment installed with the vibration isolator. Compare the test results with the vibration parameters during the normal operation of the equipment to analyze the performance changes of the vibration isolator.

Inspect the elasticity of the vibration isolator. Press it by hand or use professional tools to measure the compression amount and rebound speed of the vibration isolator to determine whether its elasticity meets the requirements.

(4) Lubrication and Protection

If the moving parts of the vibration isolator need lubrication, add an appropriate amount of lubricant regularly according to the requirements of the product manual.

For example, the movable joints of some metal spring vibration isolators need to be coated with an appropriate amount of grease to reduce friction and wear.

For vibration isolators exposed to the outdoor environment, protective measures should be taken, such as applying anti-rust paint and installing protective covers, to prevent damage to the vibration isolator caused by direct sunlight, rain erosion, and weathering.

III. Maintenance Cycle

In general, it is recommended to conduct an appearance inspection and cleaning of the vibration isolator every 1 - 3 months.

Perform a performance inspection and necessary maintenance of the vibration isolator every 6 - 12 months.

In the case of a harsh equipment operating environment, high vibration frequency, and large load, the maintenance cycle should be appropriately shortened.

IV. Precautions

When conducting maintenance work, the equipment power supply should be turned off first, and the equipment should be ensured to be in a stationary state to prevent accidents.

When replacing the vibration isolator, a product with the same model and specifications should be selected and installed according to the correct installation method.

Problems found during the maintenance process should be recorded in time and a corresponding maintenance plan should be formulated to ensure the normal operation of the vibration isolator.
