How to select the correct bag for the bag filter in industrial production?

2024-07-08

In industrial production, when choosing the correct bag for the bag filter, several key factors need to be considered:

1. Dust Characteristics:

   - Understand the particle size distribution of the dust. Fine dust may require a finer bag material to ensure effective filtration.

   - Analyze the chemical composition of the dust. For example, for corrosive dust, it is necessary to select chemically resistant bag materials, such as PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene).

2. Filtering Air Velocity:

   - A higher filtering air velocity usually requires more robust and durable bags to withstand the impact of larger airflows.

   - A lower filtering air velocity allows the selection of relatively thinner bags with high filtration accuracy.

3. Temperature Conditions:

   - If the temperature of the gas being treated is high, high-temperature resistant bag materials such as glass fiber, Nomex (aramid), etc., need to be selected.

   - For normal temperature working conditions, bags made of conventional materials such as polyester fiber can be chosen.

4. Humidity Conditions:

   - In a high-humidity environment, bags with good waterproof and moisture-proof properties should be selected to prevent the bags from being affected by moisture, which could impact the filtration effect and service life.

5. Gas Corrosivity:

   - If the gas is highly corrosive, corrosion-resistant bag materials, such as stainless steel fiber bags or bags with special coatings, must be selected.

6. Dust Cleaning Method:

   - Different dust cleaning methods (such as pulse jet blowing, reverse blowing, etc.) have different performance requirements for the bags. Pulse jet blowing may require more wear-resistant bags.

7. Service Life Requirements:

   - If there are strict requirements for the continuous operation time and maintenance cycle of the equipment, bags with higher quality and stronger durability should be selected.

8. Cost Budget:

   - High-quality and high-performance bags often have a higher price. It is necessary to comprehensively consider cost factors on the premise of meeting the dust removal requirements.

For example, in the high-temperature and highly corrosive dust treatment of a steel factory, due to the fine and corrosive dust particles and the high gas temperature, high-temperature and corrosion-resistant glass fiber bags were selected, and the pulse jet blowing dust cleaning method was adopted to ensure a long-term and stable dust removal effect. While in a wood processing factory at normal temperature with high humidity, polyester fiber bags with waterproof properties were selected, and the reverse blowing dust cleaning method was used, which not only met the dust removal requirements but also controlled the cost.
