How often should the bag of a bag pulse dust collector be replaced?

2024-08-26

There is no fixed standard duration for bag replacement of a bag pulse dust collector. It mainly depends on the following factors:

I. Dust properties

Dust concentration:

If the dust concentration in the dusty gas is very high, the filtration load on the bag is large, which will accelerate the wear and clogging of the bag. In a high-concentration dust environment, the bag condition may need to be checked in a few months. Replacement should be considered according to the degree of wear and clogging. Generally, some or all of the bags may need to be replaced in about 6 months to 1 year.

For cases with lower dust concentrations, the service life of the bag will be correspondingly extended. It may take more than 1 year or even 2 to 3 years before replacement is needed.

Dust particle size and shape:

Finer dust particles are easy to enter the interior of the bag fiber, increasing the difficulty of dust removal and making the bag more prone to clogging and damage. For example, when dealing with dust mainly composed of extremely fine particles, the service life of the bag may be greatly affected and replacement may need to be considered in about 1 year.

Dust particles with sharp shapes cause more serious wear on the bag during the filtration process. If there are more sharp particles in the dust, the service life of the bag will be shortened and replacement may be needed within perhaps 1 year.

II. Filtration air velocity

High filtration air velocity:

When the dust collector operates at a higher filtration air velocity, the pressure and friction on the bag increase, and the wear speed accelerates. In this case, the service life of the bag may be significantly shortened and replacement may be needed in less than 1 year.

Low filtration air velocity:

A lower filtration air velocity can reduce the burden on the bag and extend its service life. Under appropriate low air velocity conditions, the bag may be used for 2 years or more.

III. Dust removal methods and effects

Dust removal method:

If the parameters of pulse jet dust removal are set reasonably, it can effectively remove the accumulated dust on the bag, maintain the bag's permeability, and extend the bag's service life.

If methods such as reverse air jet dust removal have poor effects, it may lead to the inability to remove the accumulated dust on the bag in time, increase the resistance of the bag, and shorten the service life of the bag.

Dust removal effect:

Good dust removal effect can keep the bag in good filtration performance all the time and extend its service time. If the dust removal is not thorough, the bag will gradually clog, the filtration efficiency will decrease, and at the same time, the pressure loss will increase. This may lead to the need to replace the bag in a relatively short time. Generally, it may take several months to about 1 year.

IV. Bag quality

High-quality bag:

A bag made of high-quality materials and with excellent workmanship has better wear resistance, corrosion resistance, and filtration performance, and its service life is relatively long. Such a bag may be used for more than 2 years.

Inferior bag:

A bag with poor quality is prone to problems such as damage, deformation, and deteriorated permeability, and its service life is short. Replacement may be needed in a few months.
